Fantastical Pricing in 2026: What You Actually Pay

Fantastical is free to start. Flexibits Premium is $6.99 a month or $56.99 a year in the US, a Family plan covering up to five people is $10.49 or $89.99, and there is a Team plan sold only through the web. Every paid plan comes with a 14-day trial, and there is no one-time purchase at any price.

That is the whole answer, and if it is all you came for you can stop reading. The rest of this page is what those numbers buy, where the free tier stops, the discount Flexibits does not advertise, and what the subscription adds up to over five years.

One thing is worth saying up front because it shapes every number below. Premium is not a calendar subscription. It covers Fantastical and Cardhop, the Flexibits contacts app, plus Fantastical Scheduling, across Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple Vision Pro and Windows. So the useful question is not whether $56.99 is a lot for a calendar. It is how much of that bundle you will actually open.

I build a competing Mac calendar app, so read the recommendation at the end with that in mind. The prices below come from Flexibits' own pricing page and Apple's App Store listing, both checked on 11 September 2026.

Every Fantastical plan and what it costs

Two things in that table are worth pulling out, because no review I can find mentions either.

Fantastical is priced by region, and Europe pays more. The European annual plan works out to €70.08 a year against $56.99 in the US. At current rates that is a real gap for the same plan. It is normal for VAT-inclusive European pricing, but it means you should check your own currency rather than budget from an American review, including this paragraph.

The Team plan is web only. It does not exist as an in-app purchase in the Mac App Store, so if you want Single Sign-On or Openings with multiple hosts you have to buy from flexibits.com rather than from inside the app. Flexibits does not publish a seat minimum for it.

What the free tier actually gives you

Fantastical's free tier is permanent rather than a trial, and it is more generous than most freemium calendars. You can add accounts, add and delete events and tasks, get notifications, and see event location details. For a lot of people that is simply a complete calendar.

What Premium unlocks, taken from Flexibits' own feature comparison:

• Full screen day, week, month, quarter and year views
• Full task support, including iCloud Reminders and Todoist
• Fantastical Scheduling, the booking-link product
• Attachments on iOS, and forwarding email to Fantastical
• Push sync
• Priority email support instead of standard, and Single Sign-On on the Team plan only

Two limits are more interesting than that list, because they are degraded rather than removed. Calendar mirroring covers two weeks on Free and six months on Premium. The weather forecast shows three days on Free and ten on Premium. Neither breaks the app. Both are the kind of thing you do not notice until the day you need it.

So here is the practical test. Install the free tier, live in it for a week, and watch whether you reach for the full screen views or the task integration. Those two are what people actually upgrade for. Nobody has ever paid $56.99 for seven extra days of weather.

Monthly or annual: a $26.89 decision

Paid monthly, Individual is $6.99, which is $83.88 across a year. Paid annually it is $56.99. The annual plan saves $26.89, roughly 32%. In Europe the same choice saves €25.80, roughly 27%, because the monthly and annual prices there are €7.99 and €5.84.

The 14-day trial applies either way, and Flexibits pro-rates upgrades: you are charged a pro-rated amount based on how much is left in your billing cycle. So starting monthly to test the app and switching to annual later costs you nothing beyond the difference.

What you cannot do is buy it once. Fantastical moved to a subscription with version 3 in 2020, and the App Store listing still carries legacy "Premium (2020 Upgrade)" purchases left over from that transition. If you were hoping for a perpetual licence, that option is gone.

Is there a Fantastical discount?

Yes, and it is not a code on the pricing page. Flexibits' FAQ says they offer an educational or military discount, and that you should contact them and include proof of your educational institution, student status, or military service. You have to ask, by email, with evidence. The size of the discount is not published, so you will not know what you are getting until you write.

Everything else that looks like a discount is structural rather than promotional. The annual plan is a standing 32% off. The Family plan is the per-person discount if you have up to five people to cover, since $89.99 across five people is $18 each. Upgrades are pro-rated. There is no public coupon, no lifetime deal, and no bundle beyond Premium itself, which already includes Cardhop.

What Fantastical costs over five years

Subscriptions are easy to underrate month by month, so here is the same money stacked up. Annual plans, US pricing.

Those numbers are not an argument that Fantastical is overpriced. Five years at $284.95 buys two apps, a booking system, and six platforms, which is defensible for what it is. They are an argument for being honest about what you use. If your answer is "the calendar, on my Mac, connected to Google", you are funding a bundle you opened once.

So is Fantastical worth it?

It is worth it if several of these are true. Your calendars sit on more than one provider. You would use Fantastical Scheduling instead of paying for a separate booking tool. You actually use Cardhop. You move between Mac, iPhone, Watch and Windows. You want the full task integration with Reminders or Todoist. Stack two or three of those together and Premium is cheaper than the tools it replaces, which is the real case for it.

It is not worth it if you are on Google Calendar only, on a Mac only, and what you want is a fast native window onto the calendar you already have. Either way, the 14-day trial costs nothing and will answer the question better than any review, including this one.
