hora Calendar Now Supports macOS 15

If you kept your Mac on macOS Sequoia, hora used to be out of reach. That changes this week: hora Calendar now supports macOS 15.

This is not a separate version of the app or a stripped-down compatibility build. It is the same native home for Google Calendar on Mac, now available to people who have not moved to macOS 26.

Why this mattered

A calendar app is not useful because it looks good in a screenshot. It is useful when it can hold a real work week: recurring meetings, Focus Time, shared calendars, travel plans, video calls, and the small changes that happen between them. Requiring a newer system than many otherwise capable Macs can run was an unnecessary line between people and that workflow.

What changed under the hood

Supporting an older macOS version was not a case of changing one number in the project settings. Newer system APIs shape everything from toolbar treatments and controls to map search and a few of the visual details that make hora feel at home on a Mac.

The work was to keep one app and one calendar workflow while giving macOS 15 the right system-level fallback where it needs one. The result should feel familiar on Sequoia without changing the app people already use on newer macOS releases.

What stays the same

hora is still deliberately narrow: a native Mac app for people who use Google Calendar. Your Google calendars remain the source of truth. You can work with timed and all-day events, recurring events, Focus Time, working locations, out-of-office events, multiple Google accounts, and video meetings without turning your schedule into a separate planning system.

One honest compatibility note

The calendar workflows above work on macOS 15. Some optional Apple Intelligence-assisted refinements are tied to macOS 26 and compatible hardware, so they remain available only where Apple provides them. hora keeps its regular, built-in paths for the core experience instead of making a newer system a requirement for basic scheduling.
